Rubbish removal from the farm has reached category 5. The fifth truck will load out tomorrow with more deadwood and discards from our work on the bathrooms.
Now the bathrooms are a concept in progress. After talking to three plumbers and my carpenter the concensus was that we could redeck the floors for now and reset at least one of them. Well as we removed the rotting layers of plywood, we found original back porch flooring underneath. That also was in none too good a shape. The original bathroom is practically 100 years old. I'm not sure when the septic system was put in. The second bath/laundry room was added about 20 + years ago.
I've had the idea for a while that the thing to do was blowout the common back wall and double the size of each room. Good thing, too, that we had talked about it and visualized it because the right decision at this point is to do it now. Underneath the floors the beams are in bad shape too. So it makes sense to do that right, right now, as well. New foundation, beams, floors, walls, windows, fixtures, appliances. Scratch and dent here I come.
